# Winter wheat sowing in France complicated by low temperatures and lack of rain

> Late-October rain in France was welcome but likely insufficient, and a dry climate has returned across the country. Temperatures are falling quickly while much of the sowing work remains to be done. FranceAgriMer put soft wheat sowings at 62% and winter barley at 71% as of 26 October, which caught up with the five-year average but leaves a difficult finish ahead.
