# Indonesia plans wider cooperative role in rice distribution

> Indonesia plans to use Red and White Village Cooperatives as one of nine retail channels for subsidised rice, aiming to reduce farmers' reliance on middlemen. Retail prices were reported for premium and medium rice, and about 1.16 million tons of SPHP rice had been distributed from January to October 28.
