# Seeding Intentions: canola and soybeans increase | The Western Producer

> Statistics Canada's first seeding intentions report shows farmers plan their largest-ever canola area, at 22.4 million acres, up 10% and above the 21.3 million trade estimate. All-wheat area is pegged at 23.2 million acres, down 0.1%, while farmers plan to plant much less lentils, barley and durum. ICE November canola futures dipped 0.4% after the release.
