# Enhancement of quantitative ceiling on export of pulses & lentils

> India's DGFT notification of 19 April 2017 raised the export ceiling for organic pulses and lentils from 10,000 to 50,000 MT per year. Exemptions for organic wheat, non-Basmati rice, edible oils and sugar were also announced, with export only through EDI ports.

## Why it matters
