# Preventive trade policies restrict export of key agri commodities: stu

> A joint World Bank and ICRIER study covering 2004-05 to 2013-14 found that Indian domestic prices for 15 farm commodities, including rice, wheat, maize, mango, banana, potato and buffalo meat, were below export parity in 72% of years. The authors say export curbs and other trade policies kept domestic prices low, which they describe as an implicit tax on farmers.
