> Hot, dry conditions in southern Saskatchewan and Alberta have cut yields and raised protein in Western Canadian cereals, including malting barley. The Canadian barley crop is forecast at 7.4Mt, down 15% from 2016, and the USDA projects US barley output at 3.1Mt, down from 4.3Mt last year.
