# In 2017 – 2018 global sunflower production will decrease by 1 million tonnes

> Oil World forecasts global sunflower production in 2017-18 will fall 0.9 million tonnes to 48.7 million tonnes. Large cuts are expected in Ukraine, to 13.8 million tonnes, and in the US, to 0.8 million tonnes. Ending stocks are projected at 3.54 million tonnes, down from 3.69 million.
