# Feed barley market firms with weak production numbers - AgCanada

> Statistics Canada cut its 2017-18 barley crop estimate to 7.3 million tonnes, down 16.8% from 8.8 million the previous year. Feed barley prices rose to about C$200-205 per tonne, with wet spring weather delaying seeding. Lower-quality malt barley from the northern U.S. may move into feed markets.
