# FAO Food Price Index dips again in April, led by sugar and vegetable oils

> The FAO Food Price Index averaged 168 points in April, down 1.8 percent from March but 10 percent above a year earlier. Sugar and vegetable oil indices led the decline, while the cereal index fell 1.2 percent on lower wheat prices and the meat index rose 1.7 percent.
