# Thailand: Strong baht may curb rice exports

> The Thai Rice Exporters Association expects strong baht to curb rice exports to 9.5 million tonnes in 2018, below the 11 million tonnes targeted for 2017. Thailand has shipped 10.3 million tonnes so far in 2017, up 16.3%. India has already shipped more than 11 million tonnes.
