# EU biodiesel sector faces cheap imports

> The EU has removed anti-dumping duties on biodiesel from 13 Argentine and Indonesian producers following rulings from the European Court of Justice and the WTO. Verbio's CEO expects a surge of imports from April, and ADM will suspend production at a German biodiesel site. Imports could reach 3 to 5 million tonnes in 2018.

## Why it matters

Imports of 3 to 5 million tonnes would displace EU biodiesel made mainly from rapeseed oil, reducing European oilseed crush demand. Lower EU feedstock demand is bearish for vegetable oil prices.
