# $1.5B settlement in suit over Syngenta modified corn seed | AP News

> AP reports a $1.5 billion settlement in the lawsuit over Syngenta's modified corn seed strains sold in the US market from the 2011 season. Plaintiffs said the decision to commercialize the strains cut off access to the Chinese corn market and drove price declines for several years. The report describes the same settlement covered by other outlets.
