# Rain favors development of 2nd harvest crops - Revista Cultivar

> Brazilian forecasters expect rain showers across central-north producing regions of Mato Grosso, Rondonia, Para, Tocantins and other states through mid-March. Conditions are favorable for second-crop corn, cotton and bean development and harvesting, though late corn planting may reduce second-crop corn output.

## Why it matters

Rain favoring safrinha development supports Brazilian corn supply, but late planting risks a smaller crop, a mixed signal that adds modest support to corn prices.
