# Strategy Grains again lowers export estimate for wheat

> Strategy Grains cut its estimate of EU soft wheat exports for 2017/18 to 20.3 million tonnes, 900,000 tonnes below its March forecast and well below 24.2 million in 2016/17. For 2018/19 it expects 24.1 million tonnes, with France facing competition from Russia and Ukraine. It also trimmed EU barley export estimates by 200,000 tonnes.
