# Russia: Price drop for methionine - Food & Agribusiness

> The price of methionine in Russia fell 5% in April 2018 to about 2.5-2.6 euro/kg, according to FeedLot.ru data. Russian imports of the amino acid over January to April 2018 were about 8,000 tons, 17% lower than a year earlier. A new plant to produce L-valine, L-threonine and L-tryptophan, with capacity up to 20,000 tons, was announced in Russia at the end of April 2018.
