# Malaysian palm prices need to fall to RM2,100 per tonne to regain exports | The Star

> Analyst Dorab Mistry said Malaysian palm oil futures must fall to 2,100 ringgit a tonne to regain export competitiveness, after a 12% decline this year. Weak demand in India and Turkey, weaker emerging market currencies and a planned India import duty hike are cited. Mistry cut his 2018 Malaysian output forecast to 19.2-19.5 million tonnes.
