# FOREX-Euro plunges to three-year lows as dollar demand jumps

> The euro fell 1.6% to $1.0726 per dollar, its lowest since April 2017, as investors rushed to sell euros and secure dollar funding. Sterling neared its lowest level against the dollar since at least 1985, and the Australian dollar fell to a 17-year low. The ECB's 750 billion euro asset-purchase programme did not stop the move.
