# Grain Market Update 21st July - Irish Farmers' Association

> The Irish winter grain harvest began in mid-July 2020 after one of the lowest winter crop acreages on record, with yields variable and some as low as 6 t/ha. Irish grain stores were empty going into harvest, pushing green harvest prices for barley and wheat higher. EU wheat prices rebounded in early July on below-expectation harvest yields and a lower US maize outlook.
