# EU (28) grain crop estimate for 2019 from Strategy

> Strategy Grains, a French grain analyst, forecasts the EU-28 2019 grain harvest at 311 million tonnes, up 11% from 279 million in 2018 and the largest since 2015. The increase reflects higher yields and about 6% more acreage after drought and heat hit 2018 crops in Central and Northern Europe. Rapeseed output is expected to fall on smaller acreage.
