# Domestic wheat cash markets firm | The Land | NSW

> Domestic wheat cash markets in Australia halted their recent decline and gained $5 to $10 week-on-week, mainly on favourable overseas moves. Special Feed Wheat into Griffith was trading up to $350 a tonne delivered in May, and 18/19 APW was up $5 at $365 in Port Kembla. Canola plantings in NSW are estimated down about 65% year on year as dry conditions pushed growers toward wheat and barley.

## Why it matters

Firmer Australian feed wheat prices and a shift of area from canola to wheat and barley add to local feed grain supply, while the canola cut tightens oilseed meal availability in the region.
