# China's animal feed push for self-reliance as trade war intensifies - CGTN

> China's animal feed industry, which relied heavily on American soybeans, is adjusting as the trade war escalates. A Qingdao feed executive said retaliatory tariffs lifted soybean meal prices by 100 yuan per ton to 2,900 yuan, raising final feed prices by about 40 yuan per ton.
