# Weather Challenges Still Plague Missouri Farmers // Integrated Crop and Pest Management News Article // Integrated Pest Management, University of Missouri

> University of Missouri specialist William Wiebold reports that wet fields prevented planting of 750,000 acres of corn and 480,000 acres of soybeans in Missouri, according to the September 4 FSA report. About half the planted corn emerged after May 26, so yields depend heavily on July and August weather. Warm nights during grain fill are also a concern for yield.
