# Brazil Intervenes Twice to Prop Up Real After Fall to Record - Bloomberg

> Brazil's central bank unexpectedly sold dollars in two surprise foreign exchange auctions, its first intervention in three months. The real had weakened as much as 1.2% to a record 4.2765 per dollar, and the currency was down 0.3% on the day after the second auction. The central bank did not disclose the amount sold.
