# Oat market under pressure from high volumes - Farmers Weekly

> AHDB's annual supply and demand estimates put UK oat production for 2019-20 at 1.215m tonnes, 19% above a year earlier, following what analysts describe as the biggest crop since the 1970s. Early Bird planting intentions point to spring oat area rising to around 200,000ha in 2020, and end-of-season stocks could reach 240kt.
