# Surveillance report: Avian influenza overview August – November 2019

> The ECDC published its avian influenza overview covering 16 August to 15 November 2019. It recorded one low pathogenic H5 outbreak in poultry in France and no highly pathogenic outbreaks in European birds. It also reported the first HPAI H5N6 detection in African chickens, in Nigeria.
