# Poultry industry suffering amid epidemic - Chinadaily.com.cn

> China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said the poultry sector has suffered serious losses from feed shortages, transport problems, sales difficulties and shutdowns of slaughter plants since the coronavirus outbreak. Officials warned of a possible poultry and egg supply disruption in the second and third quarters, and are arranging special loans and lower interest rates for large producers. Two recent bird flu cases in Hunan and Sichuan have also weighed on poultry sales.
