# Tight Chinese pork supply to ease by fourth quarter: agriculture official – China Economic Review

> An official from China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said pork supply will ease from the fourth quarter as new pig farms and restocking take effect. Productive sow stocks are up 28.6% from September 2019, and live hog stocks are up 20.9% since January. Imports and more than 1.2 million tonnes of extra poultry meat will also help.
