# France cuts wheat crop estimate to 29.7mn tonnes, down 25pc from last year - Markets - Business Recorder

> France's farm ministry cut its soft wheat crop estimate to 29.71 million tonnes from 31.31 million a month earlier, 24.9% below last year. The ministry also lowered its barley estimate to 11.3 million tonnes and its rapeseed estimate to 3.33 million, while raising its first grain maize forecast to 14.4 million.
