# USD/VND rate expected to remain stable until year-end

> HSBC Vietnam expects the USD/VND exchange rate to stay stable over the last four months of 2020, supported by a weaker US dollar, a record Vietnamese trade surplus of US$11.9 billion and strong foreign exchange reserves. Vietcombank USD selling prices have hovered around VND23,060-23,270 with no major moves in the past two months. A Reuters poll of economists expects the dollar's weakening trend to continue for at least three months, driven by the Fed's shift toward tolerating higher inflation.
