# Avian influenza overview May – August 2020

> EFSA's overview covers 16 May to 15 August 2020, recording seven HPAI H5N8 poultry outbreaks in Europe, six of them in Hungary and one in Bulgaria. It also notes one low-pathogenic H5N3 outbreak in Italy and describes the Hungarian cases as the tail end of the winter and spring epidemic in central Europe.
