# Shipping of grains out of Punjab godowns starts today | Hindustan Times

> Railways are resuming freight services in Punjab after a nearly two-month halt, allowing foodgrains to be shipped from godowns to other states. At least 35 rakes are expected to carry about 1 lakh tonnes of wheat and paddy on the first day. Roughly 35 lakh tonnes of grain had been held up by the restrictions, which were imposed after farmers protesting farm laws blocked passenger trains.
