# Rendac gaat slachtbijproducten duurzamer verwaarden - Nieuwe Oogst

> Rendac, part of Darling Ingredients, will separately process 50,000 tonnes per year of category 2 animal by-products at its Son facility in the Netherlands. The fat will go to biodiesel and the meal to organic fertiliser, and the remaining fraction will be digested into green gas. Rendac hopes to start before summer.

## Why it matters

Diverting category 2 fat into biodiesel and meal into fertiliser shifts some rendered fat and meat meal away from feed use. The effect on feed-grade meat and bone meal supply is small at this scale.
