# Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (finally) acknowledges heat, drought have slashed its wheat and canola crops - Pro Farmer

> Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada projects total field crop output to fall 27% in 2021-22 because of drought and record heat on the Prairies. It forecasts the all-wheat crop at 20.18 million tonnes, down 42.7%, and canola at 15 million tonnes, a 10-year low. Canadian wheat exports are projected at 14.1 million tonnes, about half of last year.
