# Introducing the World’s First Global Producer Price Indices for Beef Cattle and Sheep

> Researchers at Thünen Institute and Weeks Consulting published four global producer price indices for beef cattle, weaner cattle, lambs and sheep, built from prices received by producers in 33 beef and 20 sheep countries. The indices cover 2000–2019 and track how supply, demand, market access, disease, drought and exchange rates shape farmgate prices.
