# China turns off export taps | The Western Producer

> China's NDRC asked major state-owned fertilizer producers to suspend or curb exports of phosphate and urea. China shipped 3.2 million tonnes of DAP and 2.4 million tonnes of urea in the first half of 2021. Mosaic said China is at least temporarily out of the export market.
