# Weak won doesn't deter chip-crazy foreign investors

> The Korean won weakened about 1.5% against the dollar from late October, trading at 1,186.5 per dollar. Foreign investors nonetheless net bought 3.77 trillion won of Korean shares in November after heavy selling in October. The dollar index reached its strongest level since July 2020.
