# Indonesia tightens palm oil export curbs in new hit to global supplies | Reuters

> Indonesia will raise its domestic market obligation so exporters must sell 30% of planned crude palm oil and olein exports at home, up from 20%, starting Thursday. The move is aimed at containing a surge in cooking oil prices, and daily cooking oil purchase quotas for consumers are also in place. An analyst estimates palm supply could fall by about 100,000 tonnes per month.
