# Rail backlogs delay food shipments in U.S. | The Western Producer

> Rail backlogs in the United States are delaying shipments of grain, flour and corn syrup, according to food and grain companies testifying before the Surface Transportation Board. Landus Co-operative said rail transit times have more than doubled and that country elevators have waited up to 20 days for rail cars. Railroads blamed recent extreme weather and a surge in shipping demand.
