# Peru ups anchovy quota – World Fishing

> Peru's Ministry of Production authorised the first 2022 anchovy fishing season for indirect human consumption in the North-Central Zone, with exploratory fishing from 4 May and the official season opening 19 May. The North-Central total permissible catch is set at 2,792,000 tonnes. Southern zone catches rose 139% year-on-year in January-February.
