# Gov’t takes on measures to counter high prices and low supply of chicken

> The Philippine Department of Agriculture has introduced measures to raise poultry production and stabilize prices after chicken prices rose on strong demand and low output. Day-old chicks, hatching eggs and pullets may move from mainland Luzon to other islands if they test negative for avian influenza. The DA is also seeking cheaper feed ingredient sources and lifted a ban on poultry imports from Spain, Denmark and the Czech Republic.
