# The USD/VND rate could cool down in 2H22

> The Dollar Index rose to 108.17 in the week before August 25, its biggest weekly gain since April 2020, as investors sought safe-haven inflows after weak Chinese data and China's surprise rate cut. The State Bank of Vietnam is holding the USD/VND selling price at 23,400 and increasing foreign currency sales to stabilise the dong.
