# Mexico authorizes imports of glyphosate for 459 t - Opportimes

> Mexico authorized imports of formulated glyphosate totaling 459.1 tonnes for September 2021 to June 2022 and denied a request for 13,808.4 tonnes. The denial reflects a December 2020 decree to phase out glyphosate and agrochemicals containing it. The request was only about 1% of the volume approved in the 2018-2019 period.

Tight glyphosate import limits could affect Mexican crop yields and production, which in turn may affect how much corn and other feed grains Mexico needs to import.
