# Fishing sector increased 29.03% in july of the current year - Noticias - Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática - Plataforma del Estado Peruano

> Peru's national statistics institute INEI reported that fishing sector output rose 29.03% in July 2022 versus July 2021. The increase was driven by anchovy catches for fishmeal and fish oil, which reached 438,032 tons, up 121.82%, as the first northern-central season ran until the third week of July and the southern season opened July 1. Direct human consumption landings fell 14.25%.
