# Cow-calf Corner: The importance of beef trade to the cattle industry  - Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association

> A report by Kansas State and Oklahoma State economists, commissioned by state beef councils, estimates the impacts of halting both U.S. beef exports and imports. It finds that the two flows serve different products and markets and add value to the U.S. industry. Exports average about 2.05 billion pounds a year at an implied price of $3.13/lb.
