# Thunder Bay grainhandlers give strike notice - Northern Ontario Business

> About 180 grainhandlers at three Thunder Bay terminals operated by Viterra, Richardson and Superior Elevator issued a 72-hour strike notice after rejecting the companies' final offer. ## Why it matters

Thunder Bay is a major Canadian grain export port, so a walkout would delay canola, wheat and other oilseed shipments and could widen Canadian basis and export spreads. Supportive for prices of Canadian meal and grain if the strike proceeds.
