# End to reporting atypical BSE -  Free

> The World Organisation for Animal Health has decided that atypical BSE cases no longer need to be compulsorily reported, while classic BSE reporting remains mandatory. Classic BSE is now virtually nonexistent worldwide, and atypical cases are random occurrences in older cattle.
