# Deforestation Regulation. Due diligence on critical raw materials kicks off - FoodTimes

> Regulation (EU) No 2023/1115 sets due diligence criteria for cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, soybean, rubber and wood and their derived products. Those goods can only be imported or sold in the EU if operators show they are not linked to deforestation after 31 December 2020. Importers, industry and retailers face penalties proportionate to turnover.
