# USDA cattle report shows strong market prices support higher feedlot numbers - Oklahoma Farm Report

> Oklahoma State extension specialist Derrell Peel reviewed the October USDA cattle reports. Placements rose 106% from 2022, while marketings were 89% of last year's total, leaving feedlot supplies larger than expected. Heifers make up 40% of feedlot inventory, the highest since 2001.
