# Wet delays European winter-crop planting - Grain Central

> Wet conditions since October in western and northern Europe have delayed winter crop planting, particularly in France, where sowing was pushed into December. By November 27, 82% of French soft wheat was planted against 99% a year earlier and a 95% long-term average, and the crop rating fell to 80% good to excellent. Winter barley sowing was 92% complete, with its rating also declining.
