# China pork output marks first quarterly decline in four years - Grainews

> China's pork output fell 0.4% year on year to 15.83 million tonnes in January-March, the first quarterly decline since 2020, as farmers slaughtered fewer pigs. Hog slaughter fell 2.2% and cash hog prices rose to about 15.2 yuan per kg from 13.5 yuan in late February.
